I have a lighter teaching load this year, so felt very lucky to be able to spend this afternoon sitting outside discussing the Seven Sorrows in vernacular lyric with a musicologist friend and discovering the links between our work.

Nice gesture by the Home Office And quite an achievement for a Bear who entered the UK as an irregular migrant travelling on a ship from Peru 🇵🇪. In Germany kids also love #paddingtonbear. I am sure that we would have given him asylum & permanent residency.

Isabel's work was described as "a crisply written, well-argued essay on the challenges of translating Haushofer’s characteristic ‘orality.’ Judges praised the innovative approach that combines translation studies, literature, linguistics, and gender analysis." 8/
