Happy to share the final form of our new study (doi.org/10.1175/JCLI-D…): "Are 100 ensemble members enough to capture the remote atmospheric response to +2°C #Arctic sea ice loss?" ➡️ No (not really). This may also have implications for other low signal climate model experiments

This work is part of the Polar Amplification Model Intercomparison Project (Polar Amplification MIP; see cesm.ucar.edu/projects/CMIP6…), which is contributing to CMIP6. More and more climate model data is becoming available, so definitely feel free to check it out at pcmdi.llnl.gov/CMIP6/ArchiveS…!

PAMIP will be represented at the AGU Fall Meeting (online and in-person; agu.org/Fall-Meeting). We look forward to receiving abstracts from anyone working with PAMIP data to better understand the causes and consequences of polar amplification. Deadline: 4 Aug 2021, 23:59 EDT
