The Warehouse ISR is already reducing emissions and dangerous pollution in communities. I am calling in today to remind South Coast AQMD that they have an obligation to save lives and clean up our air with a #StrongISR for ports. Office of Mayor Rex Richardson & Mayor Karen Bass

We are in community today to honor the first day of Día De Los Muertos and remind South Coast AQMD, Mayor Karen Bass & Office of Mayor Rex Richardson the costs of our air pollution crisis & their obligation to make our air safe to breathe. It's time for action on a #StrongISR for ports.

#AQMDChatter - lots of folks came out today frustrated by lack of progress on adopting a port regulation. Very powerful. #WeAreJustTryingToBreathe

First public commenter in Spanish, Alberto Leon, appears to not think standards are enough, urges CARB to vote no because it won't address air pollution sufficiently. "We’re just getting out of one problem to get into another one," he said.

“There is still time to fix the LCFS so it works for all Californians. Today we urge you to say NO because this policy rewards polluters. Lives are more important than profit. Put us on the right path today.” - Alondra Mateo, People’s Collective for Environmental Justice

So far last handful of public commenters are from environmental justice groups who don't don't think CARB is doing enough here, who said they should not give credits to corporations that aren't doing anything to reduce pollution.

People’s Collective for Environmental Justice “Both you and I know that these fuels are generating polluting emissions that are leading to more people suffering from asthma and cancer. I am fighting for clean energy and for you to vote NO on the LCFS amendments.” - Jose Avalos, community member

People’s Collective for Environmental Justice “You can’t play with people’s lives. We are worth something. Our lives are worth something. We respect you but we demand you keep your word. We need zero-emissions,” - Benjamin Juna, community member

“We are the families most impacted by bad air. You've said there's no safe level of diesel to breathe yet you want to keep funding false solutions. Are our lives a joke to you? Are we so quickly to be dismissed? We need to fund to zero-emissions,” - Andrea Vidaurre, People’s Collective for Environmental Justice

People’s Collective for Environmental Justice “Diesel trucks are on our roads 24/7 and that diesel we breathe in is a poison to our health. That’s why the best alternative is to electrify our trucks. When you talk about zero-emissions, let’s mean zero-emissions,” - Macamen Gonzalez, People’s Collective for Environmental Justice

The long line of environmental justice group members continues to voice their opposition, noting this program does not do enough to actually cut pollution. Some have noted, with Trump taking office today, CARB/California must do more to seriously reduce emissions.

Shout out to being in community & solidarity with one another. We might not have dairy digesters in our backyards but we know what’s it’s like to have toxic nuisances next to us 🤬

So many people today have shared their stories abut what it’s like to live with the impacts of pollution. CARB, will you listen? Do the right thing and vote NO on the LCFS.

The greatest trick the oil industry ever played was blaming you for gas prices but then giving them a program they actually like (even if they are coy in public).

What an experience to have CARB staff justifying why fossil fuel companies might like their program 🤮 We thought CARB had to worry about public health not fossil fuel feelings? Dean Florez

.CARB leaned on ZEV funding to defend this vote. It's disingenuous. For 3 years, EJ and academics gave CARB a path to *increase* the program's ZEV support while making the program less regressive, and rely less on fuels that starve the Global South. They refused.

Why not go back to the drawing board and reconfigure the LCFS to be based on EV deployment and not more out of state biofuels? why not make LCFS “zero carbon fuel standard” and dedicate all credits toward EVs? (Most know the answer to that). #LCFS
