It is still bananas to me that ~1/2 of states don't cover the current standard of care for prenatal aneuploidy screening despite MOUNTAINS of data. In 2022! Half of pregnancies are covered by medicaid. This continues to be an equity issue. Lobby your state medicaid board. #NIPT

7 years Boston Medical Center BU Genetic Counseling Program as of this week… I’m sorry what?! Time flies when you’re constantly screaming about broken systems and working in one and watching the world burn! Still wouldn’t trade it for anything. These colleagues, #genechat students, and patients are 🔥❤️🙌🏻 for me.

Tonight I played my first ever competitive tennis match at 32 years old. We lost 6-1, 6-4. I have never been more proud of myself. Self care can take many forms, and my newfound recommendation is – the bolder, the better.

I voted in between two NSGC volunteer calls that are both making massive efforts at pushing the field of genetic counseling forward, with equity at the core of both those efforts. #genechat around this time last year i said that change would look good on you AND IT DOES!!

Getting fed up with quoting dissents, but I’m here for Justice Jackson and “let them eat cake obliviousness” today. Another sad day in June from SCOTUS, but the good work will go forward. I’ll look for another good quote tomorrow when they overturn student loan debt forgiveness.
