KEVIN SMITH, the 23rd Ocean City High School football coach, announced today he will not return for a 15th season as head coach. He is second all-time in career wins with 72. Smith indicated he will pursue opportunities in the sports media field.
Sean Matthews, defensive coordinator for OCHS football, was approved tonight as head coach of the Raiders. He succeeds Kevin Smith, coach the last 14 seasons.
Matthews had great football careers at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia and at Wesley College in Delaware.
They start tomorrow - The NJSIAA Basketball Tournaments.

Brendan Norris, a 2012 graduate of Wildwood Catholic Academy, has been named the Crusaders' next boys basketball coach.
Norris succeeds Will Wareham, who resigned over the weekend. Wareham's WCA teams were 40-42 in 3 seasons. Norris becomes Catholic's 4th head coach in 6 seasons.
