One month ago I was sent this photo. The dog had been on this short 3 foot chain for years. It’s hard to believe how good he looks just a month later… (1/7) 🧵

Because he was chained so long his health was horrendous. 🥘 He was hardly being fed 🧫 Bacterial infections all over 👂 Ears had been cut off and infected 🏃 He couldn’t walk 100 yards as no stamina Things were very bad (2/7)

Despite being in so much agony as you can see here he never complained it snapped once. The vets have been poking and prodding and cleaning and bathing for a month and he’s been an angel (3/7)

I called him Maximums after the character from Gladiator. I told him one day he would look amazing. There have been many hard days as the skin healed and he rested but he is nearly there… (4/7)

You can see that Maximus has his lovely shiny fur coming back today. His ears have also calmed down and the vets have saved his hearing. Maximus also walked a mile with me today. His stamina is coming back (5/7)

We think he is about 80% fixed. Some more weight to put on and some more skin improvement to come. (6/7)
