The number of civilians killed in Gaza skips by dozens every day. Nothing justifies this intolerable civilian death toll. Four of my innocent ICRC colleagues have been killed already since Oct. 2023. May their souls rest in peace. 🙏

Like so many other Gazans right now, Ibrahim and Ahmad were killed, while at home. Both were humanitarians. We are heartbroken. Unthinkable. Unacceptable.

A high number of dead and injured patients were received by the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah this morning. This is indicative of the increasing danger to civilians in Gaza, and the challenges each day brings for them.

Today our Red Cross hospital in Rafah, #Gaza, received 179 people, most of them women and children. The majority suffered gunshot or shrapnel wounds. Tragically, twenty-one were declared dead upon arrival. This is the impact of the war on civilians. And it is unacceptable.

Today the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah received the highest number of weapon wounded patients in a single event since it opened. The high number of dead and wounded in this incident highlights just how dangerous it is for civilians trying to survive in Gaza.

The highest death toll & casualty rate since its establishment was received at the ICRC Rafah Field Hospital this morning. Once again, desperate hungry civilians get killed & injured while trying to reach aid. It should be delivered to them safely & with dignity. UNACCEPTABLE.
