Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) refers to humane and dignified treatment of pregnant and birthing people during and after pregnancy. As part of the Community Health Intervention through Musical Engagement (CHIME) kick-off, Simone Honikman and Lungiswa Nonki, visited Pirang, The Gambia. Kanyaleng women, who support reproductive health, showcase how they integrate mental health songs into their work.CHIMEproject

From 22-26 January 2025, our Teaching and Training Coordinator, Dr Estelle (Strydom) Venter, travelled to London,for the Association for Dietetics in South Africa capacity exchange with Nutrition Society, supported by a Global Health Partnerships (formerly THET) grant. This initiative aims to strengthen the mental wellbeing healthcare workers.


Simone Honikman, is currently in Bengalaru, India to attend the World Congress on Women’s Health, hosted by the International Association for Womens Mental Health. She attended a pre-conference workshop led by Dr. Alexis Palfreyman, on providing holistic, user-led support for survivors of violence in low-resource settings.
