A private members’ bill presented by North East Fife MP, Wendy Chamberlin, has been brought forward to remove caps on charity lottery fundraising. Currently each charity lottery is capped at selling £50m worth of tickets each year (1/5) 👇

Chamberlain’s bill seeks to remove these limits. Since 2018, players of People's Postcode Lottery have been helping people with sight loss lead independent lives through projects and core services, such as supporting the first stage of our guide dog puppies' lives (2/5) 👇

The People’s Postcode Lottery has estimated that removing the annual cap could free up an additional £175m for charity over the next five years (3/5) 👇

Guides Dog’s CEO Andrew Lennox said: “We urge the Prime Minister to take seriously the concerns raised in this bill. Removing limits on charity lottery fundraising is a way the Government can help charities at no cost to the Treasury...(4/5) 👇

...Guide Dogs have received more than £9 million of vital funding from People’s Postcode Lottery, yet with increasing need for our work it makes no sense for future support to be capped.” (5/5)

Today I had the Second Reading of my Private Member's Bill to lift the cap on the number of charity lottery tickets that can be sold. At the beginning of the debate, I set out what legislative changes my Bill seeks to make.

We were pleased to see our The Association of Charity Lotteries in Europe 2022 report, researched by Regulus Partners, mentioned in the UK House of Commons by Wendy Chamberlain in a debate on charity lotteries.
