Today, 🇯🇲 as CARICOM Coordinator in Geneva facilitated a briefing by Convention on Wetlands Secretary General Dr. Musonda Xoliswa Mumba on the preparatory work for COP15 in July 2025, where Contracting Parties will consider matters related to the conservation & sustainable management of wetlands.

🇯🇲, as CARICOM Coordinator in Geneva, facilitated an engagement between CARICOM Members & the International Council for Beverages Association ICBA for updates on the industry's actions, objectives & challenges, in view of the HLM on NCDs to be held in September 2025.

Mission congratulates Mr. Evan Thompson, Head of MetServiceJA and Jamaica's Permanent Representative to the WMO, on his successful re-election to the post of President of WMO RA-IV, during regional meetings that took place in El Salvador last week.

Mission supported Ms. Tamara Morrison (🇯🇲's Rotterdam focal point) at the 2025 mtgs of the Conference of Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, which advanced the progress of the sound management of chemicals & waste to protect human health & the environment.

Mission attended the launch of the UN Road Safety Exhibition organized by UNSG Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt, & PR of Malaysia in Geneva, H.E. Dato’ Nadzirah Osman. Road Safety remains a priority for 🇯🇲 to reduce the # of road traffic deaths to meet the 2030 targets.
