The Civil Aviation Authority Director-General has announced the temporary closure of Muzaffarabad International Airport as construction will be taking place from the 9th February till 10th of March 2022.

Construction expected to begin tomorrow, as Muzaffarabad International takes in the last few inbound and outbound flights. Three new gates, new hangars a renovated interior and many more features are expected to be on the list.

The last flight from Muzaffarabad International Airport, Emirates flight 385 from Muzaffarabad to Jinnah Intl, Karachi. The airport has shut its doors for at least a month.

Construction has begun in Muzaffarabad, construction trucks, checkpoints have been introduced as well as minor disruptions towards the Muzaffarabad bus route.

Update on Muzaffarabad Intl: Military Checkpoints have been built before entering the airport zone. All cars and individuals will be logged and checked before and after entering the airport zone, this has been constructed to further enhance safety measures within the airport.
