We've lost a strong leader & champion for Cinical Governance in #PNG. I first met Dr Goa Tau in '04 as a junior officer working on N. gono AMR at Heduru Clinic, POM Gen Hospital, where he was the physician leading ARV rollout for HIV+ people. Rest in peace, Doc 🙏🏽

At the time of this passing, Dr Tau was Deputy Secretary Medical Standards & Compliance Regulation at the National Dept of Health #PNG. Previously he'd served as the country's Chief Physician, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Manager for Medical Standards 🇵🇬

I was fortunate to meet this pioneering #PNG leader in ‘06 as part of a NeuroAIDS meeting in Melbourne. Dr Tau will be sadly missed. It is apt that we started our HIV strategy meeting this morning with a minute’s silence, appreciative of his service / leadership. 🙏🏾🌺
