RFK Jr’s nomination is the repudiation of a century of unprecedented and miraculous progress in public health. We take it for granted because we don’t recognize how far we’ve come. I recently wrote in The Atlantic about what we risk losing. Gift link 👇 theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…

A really fun day out at the UK NK cell meeting. Thanks to Malcolm Sim for organising a fascinating day and for inviting Sam Chamberlain to talk about his studies of how the RIFINs bind to KIR receptors and how this affects NK cell function in malaria.

Really fascinating read here- three of the same CD163 monomers working asymmetrically to allow the uptake of diverse ligands. Don't think I've seen this kind of binding before, nature cooks up some interesting mechanisms sometimes!

It is a great honour to invite you to a symposium to celebrate the career of Mark Carrington. An exciting set of talks for anyone fascinated by trypanosomes!

The symposium to celebrate Mark Carrington's career is coming soon. You have until 15th to book in. A great day of science, particularly if you are excited about kinetoplastids! And a day of celebration.

Sam, Shiroh and I wrote a review about the latest on the surface proteins of infected-erythrocytes. PfEMP1, RIFINs, weird antibodies and immune manipulation. Check it out here: authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S13…
