Today, on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, we remember the 6 million Jews and millions of other people murdered during the Holocaust.

This weekend, I was proud to honor legendary Rocklander Al Magnatta with an Assembly proclamation celebrating his 100th birthday. Al has spent his lifetime giving back to our community and he continues to do so every day.

A busy week in Albany starting with Canada Day on Monday. Then Tuesday meeting with PEF President Wayne Spence at their annual legislative breakfast followed by a Future Caucus meeting to discuss this year's agenda and finishing the day with a Lunar New Year Celebration.

This February, we celebrate Black History Month, recognizing those who fought for equity and the vast contributions of African-Americans to our country.

As research continues to show the dangers of food additives, this week, I stood with my colleagues in support of legislation to prohibit their use and require the disclosure of these ingredients.

As legislation to withdraw Orange County from the MTA has been introduced, similar questions have arisen around Rockland County and the service we receive from the authority. My full statement:

Rallying in Albany today in support of Direct Support Professionals and the work they do for New Yorkers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As we negotiate this year’s budget, I will continue to fight for greater investment in these crucial services.

Great to take some time this morning to catch up with Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann on his local TV show. I look forward to continuing to work together to improve our local roads and infrastructure.

Great to join some amazing teachers and educators from all around District 96 at the Capitol, alongside NYSUT President Melinda Person and NYS AFL-CIO // #UnionStrong President Mario Cilento, as we rallied to protect our schools and stand against cuts to education.

Throughout the budget process, I’ve joined my colleagues to advocate for increased funding for local roads & bridges. This morning, I joined Senator Pete Harckham & Senator Bill Weber in a meeting with Rockland Highway Supervisors to discuss priorities and how we can improve local roads.

Joined @NYSUT for a rally tonight to #FixTierSix. I’m committed to fighting for reforms so that tier 5 and 6 members get the benefits they deserve.

Last week, I had the chance to attend the FIRST Robotics Hudson Valley Regional competition at Rockland Community College. Featuring four teams from Rockland, it was great to see students demonstrate their skills and work together.

Today, the Assembly adopted its one-house budget resolution. As we negotiate the state budget with the Governor and the Senate, I’ll continue fighting for Rockland to ensure our priorities are front and center and reflected in the final budget. My statement:
