It is not uncommon for people with Lyme Disease to have ALS type symptoms including: muscle atrophy & difficulty swallowing. Advanced testing (PCR or Elispot) is needed, as standard antibody tests only check for one of ~300 strains of Borrelia (Lyme).

Threads were intended for major shifts. Things that couldn't be explained in 1 tweet. We'd planned to use one every 6-7 weeks. But this is our third thread in a month. And we're writing this one because we've hit a critical point. We'll get to that, but first let's chat. (1/10)

It's been a difficult week for patient advocates, as government turn their backs on resolutions which would have resolved the impasse with #cervicalcheck & #medicalcardscandal. We will not be silenced or deterred by the inaction of others. This is who we are, This is what we do.

The covid news from Ireland today 1)Ernst&Young doing the epidemiology, not epidemiologists. 2) A physicist, not a public health expert, is put in charge of the covid vaccine programme 3) The public health doctors are being forced to strike because they’re being under-utilised 🤷‍♀️

Orla Hegarty Maddening that ventilation and superspreading conditions is not centre of debate on re-opening. Much more is known about Covid now than in March and educating public on those risks helps explain rationale in keeping poorly ventilated spaces closed. Let open using outdoors only.
