So Europe has pretty good deals with Trump over NATO and EU trade tariffs. Not ideal, but pretty ok. No disaster on both strategic fronts. Now the key item is survival of Ukraine and defeat of Russian war criminals.

In the 19th century, China was forced to accept unequal treaties. In the 21st century, Europe is facing similar impositions After a “happy globalisation “ phase, the EU risks entering "happy vassalisation" phase.

If you're still hating on Von der Leyen / Brussels / EU Pivot to actually helping unify European institutions and infrastructure Don't complain, do.

"It feels like Europe has entered a new phase. Not Europe vs the US or China, but a deeper, internal crisis with itself." The EU is built for the world of globalization, not the world of geopolitics. A "postmodern" form of governance. But the world didn't become "postmodern".

A federal Europe, with the second largest economy and the third biggest population on the planet, would defy the nasty power games of Trump, Putin or Xi. It would be a fully respected world power. It is -more than ever- Time for a European Federation. peterlang.com/document/11591…

“The West doesn’t understand the extremism of Putinism…that (its) goals involve the destruction of the transatlantic alliance & maybe of the EU…The path to peace is through convincing Putin that he won’t win the war, that it’s hopeless.” Anne Applebaum 💯

Hallitus haluaa helpottaa hieman irtisanomista ja siten palkkausta. Kannat vaihtelee: muutos liian iso vai pieni? Vaikutukset auki, ekonomistien odotus alla. Varsin vahva tuki: -45% näkee työllisyyden nousua, 16% eri mieltä. -58% näkee tuottavuuden kasvua, 10% eri mieltä. 🤔

Yes! Tariffs are bad, but so are the intra-EU trade barriers that we impose on ourselves in Europe by not completing the Single Market. As rightly pointed out by Draghi, Enrico Letta & IMF these barriers cost us growth and welfare. Member States should get serious on that.

Trump’s tariffs may cost the EU 0.1% of GDP. Our own inaction to reform the single market costs us 7%. Reform now, or we will keep paying the price

Europe heading towards a century of humiliation: “European elites are increasingly murmuring about the threat of a “century of humiliation” for Europe… What undid China’s Qing Dynasty, was a self-defeating complacency as institutions and innovations that had worked in the past

From now I will start to unfollow Europeans reproducing and spreading US doom and gloom about EU: This is an information war where the purpose is to undermine EU morale and initiative and it is right out destructive for EU development.
