And still get running injuries. Injuries are not a failure. They can be frustrating but they can also be a way to learn about things you can improve on.

"La maestría es el mejor objetivo porque los ricos no la pueden comprar, los impacientes no la pueden apresurar, los privilegiados no la pueden heredar y nadie te la puede robar. Solo se puede ganar con trabajo duro. La maestría es el estatus definitivo. Esforzarse te hace feliz"

Jared Powell Fibromyalgia is a heterogenous condition defined by its signs & symptoms. Various mechanisms/drivers can result in the same symptoms. Treatment will need to reflect this.

I would add that another training implication is that the point of zone 2 is not zone 2 but the ability to go long enough to generate this physiological drift.

Simple plyometric coaching progression: ✅ Low intensity skipping ✅ Vertical "power skips" ✅ Short bound ✅ Bounds or hops for distance Appropriate entry points for athletes of all levels.

What moves us? What allows us to heal and thrive? What goes wrong when we get sick or when we eventually stop breathing and die? Martin Picard search for answers to these ambitious questions led him to mitochondria. scientificamerican.com/article/why-mi…

Curious to see that elite coaches behind nearly 400 international championship medals prescribe mostly zone 1 training. Not zone 2. Is it a sport-specific issue? Is it an overlap of zones? The vast energy cost of the W pros produce close to VT1?

"Abstaining from alcohol is not an overreaction – it’s a clear-headed, evidence-led commitment to optimal recovery. When returning from an injury, the less you drink, the better your chances of a complete recovery. Less is better, and none is best."

A truly terrific read by Greg Nuckols that not only takes a deep dive into the research about the relationship between RT volume and hypertrophy, but more importantly about how to take an evidence-based approach to fitness prescription strongerbyscience.com/volume/

Why low-intensity endurance training for athletes? Dr. Matomäki answers this question in a new perspective article European Journal of Applied Physiology, presenting seven possible hypotheses on why endurance athletes should engage in excess amount of low-intensity training. link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Super interesting, the power of strides/sprints: "Microinterval exercises form a unique exercise class in which high-intensity muscular work blends with mild metabolic perturbation."

Always great to listen to Scott His perspective on global VS local fatigue resistance is insightful. The idea of muscular endurance workouts feels particularly relevant for trail running- and it is an area that still has much to be explored
