The Watergate legend overshadows the real Richard Nixon. His life is “more SoCal sunshine” than in the popular telling, writes The American Conservative’s Curt Mills in his review of Paul Carter’s Potomac Books biography of Nixon as a Californian.

Chuck DeVore Paul Carter Thanks for sharing that story Chuck. I always knew Glendora was in his old congressional district. But until reading this book, did not fully understand his complete connection to the San Gabriel Valley. He must have been something to talk with. Just an amazing guy.

cerulean I just finished reading Paul Carter 's amazing book on Richard Nixon, California Native Son. So much of the book was about his San Gabriel Valley congressional district. So much SGV history. You'll enjoy the book. amazon.com/Richard-Nixon-…

cerulean Paul Carter Great book on the history of the San Gabriel Valley. Most cities including West Covina were mention. Nixon held a big outdoor rally as Congressman at a park in Covina. Wonder where that was?

By shifting the focus from Watergate and Washington to Richard Nixon’s deep, defining roots in California, Paul Carter boldly challenges common conceptions of the thirty-seventh president of the United States. Save with 6HLW24 during our Holiday Sale: bit.ly/4ihe5pj
