Another shout out to āpast meā and poor decision making: finally had a big lump on my knee looked at, diagnosed as prepatellar bursitis, largely caused by repetitive kneeling (aka housemaidās knee). āPast meā thought kneeling pads on digs were pointless. āPast meā was an idiot

Congratulations to Alastair who won the Faculty Academic Excellence Award. Having served in the Royal Marines for 15yrs, Al discovered a passion for archaeology with Waterloo Uncovered and was offered one of our unique veteran studentships in archaeology University of Winchester in 2020 1/2

Al completed his professional placement year and continues to work part-time for his hosts, and took part in the AGEN dig, training 1st yr students. Al was nominated by Dr Paul Everill and the award was presented by fellow former Marine, Dickie Bennett Breaking Ground Heritage 2/2
