Ottawa people: save these dates for 8 great evenings of movies about politics. Proceeds will fund Jaimie Anderson scholarships and internships for young people who are interested in politics. (Rebooting the Jaimie Anderson Internships for 2026, too)

Pine appeared in my head on my drive to Nashville in the days leading up to recording the new album. I left Ottawa for the two-day drive south, and the lines “when we go our separate ways, the thought of you stays” just kept repeating in a melody that showed up out of nowhere.

Had day surgery at The Ottawa Hospital General Hospital Critical Care Unit yrstrday to remove a bladder tumour. Went supersmoothly. Wonderful staff from surgeon Dr. Blew and anesthesiologist through to nurses and porters. Efficient and also good humour and compassion. We're so lucky.

Canada is one of our closest allies and trading partners, yet the President is trying to impose even higher tariffs on some Canadian goods. Throwing these tariffs at the wall and seeing what sticks is not smart trade policy. It’s chaos.
