These days I find it is rare I agree with a Labour politician. Those of us in Labour-run authorities will absolutely be aware of the way they work, how brittle they are - sensitive to criticism, and their refusal to even try to work with others or listen to other viewpoints

First Past the Post is only appropriate to two party politics. Even though my party was the winner here, the vote share by which we won is an eloquent demonstration of why we must reform the voting system. PR is not a panacea, but it will help instil a new type of politics.

Other parties are too busy terrified of Reform or trying desperately to sound exactly like them. Only the Liberal Democrats can stand strong against divisive populism, defend true British values and offer a positive alternative to the hate and division.
