#travel #PRs has your client recently spent a fortune on #artificial #plants to decorate their #hotel? Does it drip with year-round verdant greenery that never needs watering? If so, I'd like to hear. Thanks.

🗞️An interesting article from Telegraph Travel by Paul Miles about his stay in Tom Rolt's former home. It was here that Tom would have spent time campaigning for the waterways and writing his bestselling 1944 book 'Narrow Boat' before later forming Fund Britain's Waterways.

Pleased to have just been commissioned to write four features recreating Tom & Angela Rolt's 400 mile 1939/40 canal journey in their converted cargo boat, Cressy. Tom's account of that journey in his book Narrow Boat led to the formation of Fund Britain's Waterways and the revival of the canals.

Ratcliffe on Soar closes down today ending Britain’s 142 year history of coal fired power stations. I cruised past it recently. Quite a sight.

The second instalment about my travels in the wake of Tom and Angela Rolt is online. I loved the Leicester line of the Grand Union and the River Soar navigation. The 29 winding miles that reveal another side of the Midlands telegraph.co.uk/travel/destina…

I’m planning a trip to #Sardinia overland early April with family. (Six of us. Four in their 20s) I’m looking for a lovely coastal hotel with excellent green credentials and reasonable rates. Anyone? Please RT.
