Spoke to Paul Talty the week before they left for Paris & he was confident the Swim Ireland team that were heading to the Games was the strongest Ireland had sent in quite some time. A bronze and gold medal later; he was fairly on the money!!

Wiffen reveals his walkout signature on his hand was because he knew he was going to write his name in the history books. Mission accomplished.

Research in Gaelic games is at a very early stage of development and it is important to enhance our understanding of what is actually taking place in our sports so we can better support the athletes playing them. Thanks Shane Malone for asking me to be part of this process.

Big shoes to fill for the next person in to this role. Jon has left an indelible mark on Irish swimming. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with him and will be forever grateful for the opportunity he provided me in my role in Swim Ireland

"At various points in the season, both parties may need to sacrifice some of the “ideal” volumes and intensities to allow both components to create an effective dose-response for the athlete."
