Deeply troubling that a man was rushed to hospital after a stabbing on Tyburn Road in Pype Hayes. My thoughts are with the victim & their loved ones. This violence has no place in Erdington. If you have information, please report it to West Midlands Police. birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-…

Earlier this month, I met with Hospice UK to discuss the future of hospice care, post-NHS 10-year Health Plan. With rising costs, growing demand, and service cuts, as Toby Porter (NB on Blue Sky) highlights, this important sector urgently needs investment.

The APPG on Hospice and End of Life Care is looking into the hidden costs that individuals and families can face at end-of-life care. While care is often free, travel, medical equipment, and higher energy bills can place a real financial strain on loved ones. Hospice UK

Hospice and end-of-life care should be available to all, now and forever, as Paul Jennings rightly explains. With growing demand, sustainable funding is essential. Thanks to Hospice UK for tirelessly championing hospice care and pushing for long-term support.

I’ve signed Sarah Champion’s cross-party letter urging the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to recognise Palestine as a state. Labour has long supported a two-state solution, a viable Palestine alongside a safe and secure Israel. That time is now!

It was great to meet with Labour Muslim Network and hear about their important work championing issues for the Muslim community and creating opportunities for progress. Thanks for inviting me!

Black women are 3.7 times more likely to die during pregnancy or within a year of giving birth compared to White women, a shocking inequality. At Health and Social Care Committee, I pressed the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, on how the 10-year Health Plan aims to tackle this injustice.

It was great to join 38 Degrees at the drop-in event in Parliament for an update on their People’s Priorities for the NHS report, outlining the public’s six key tests for the NHS. Check it out here 👇🏿 url.uk.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/IyDTCxnKDCJD…
