With both studies now underway at RCH we've made it to double digits - 7 participants recruited to PEAChY-O and 3 to PEAChY-M. Only 686 to go...🍑🤗

With 30 patients recruited to PEAChY-O to date we are nearly 10% of the way there! A big thanks to all the clinicians who has recruited a participant so far. Stay tuned for more updates as we go multi-centre over the coming months.

Here is our PhD candidate Elyssia Bourke at the Women's and Children's Hospital Adelaide, undertaking a study site visit with WCH ED research coordinator Gaby. WCH are doing an amazing job at recruiting participants since they started in June - keep up the great work team!

Great news: we have recruited 20% of the required participants for PEAChY-O and as of today GCUH ED Gold Coast Health Emergency Care Research Group have commenced recruitment for both studies meaning 5 sites are up and running! Looking forward to providing all the details at the Team DFTB conference next week.

It's been a big year for PEAChY. A huge thanks to the investigators, clinicians and participants. We end the year having recruited 50% of the total required for PEAChY-O and 17% for PEAChY-M. Looking forward to a productive & collaborative 2023. Happy New Year from team PEAChY!

Results are out! Oral olanzapine & diazepam were equally effective and both appear safe. 40% of patients did not achieve successful sedation. In 15% of cases, healthcare staff were exposed to verbal or physical aggression. More research is required to guide effective therapies.
