This systematic review and meta-analysis finds that a higher resistance training volume is likely to be concomitant with greater improvements in lean mass/muscle hypertrophy, muscle strength and body fat percentage, but not muscle power/rapid force in healthy young women.

Mais um estudo sobre jejum intermitente e perda de peso. Mais uma evidência que não mostra qualquer vantagem dessa "prática milenar". Por que será que a ciência não encontra os benefícios que tanta gente jura ser "prova viva"?

Excited to share our paper on exercise and frailty after chemotherapy just published in a special collection in J Cancer Survivorship. Even light exercise can reverse aging, but strength training does even more! link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Sample size calculation in RCTs is a hoax. Trialists consider feasibility & $$$ they are likely to get from funders & make up the numbers for their calculation accordingly. There is a better way that we continue to ignore. Instead we collude in the hoax. journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/a…

Thrilled to share our review (from my PhD) published in the renowned British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM). We found that higher levels of muscle strength or cardiorespiratory fitness are associated with a significantly reduced risk of mortality (up to 40%) in cancer patients Rob Newton Exercise Medicine Research Institute
