Equal parts puns, pediatrics, pop culture. I debunk vaccine myths like Spock & McCoy combined. Yes, I’ve read the inserts. Opinions mine, not employer’s.

(1/2) The US withdrawal from funding the international vaccine agency, Gavi, will directly lead to tens of thousands, perhaps millions, of innocent deaths. Killing children is not protecting them. nytimes.com/2025/06/25/hea…

(2/2) In one of his last interviews, my father, Senator Robert Kennedy, was asked how he would like to be remembered. He quoted Camus: “Perhaps this will always be a world in which children suffer, but we can decrease the number of suffering children.” He said, “I’d like to be

RFK's main justification for pulling funding from global vaccine efforts that save millions of lives is that he doesn't like how GAVI wanted social media sites to reduce false vaccine info. (The kind his org promotes.) Of course he doesn't really need an excuse, he's antivaccine

Only 4-5% of flu vaccine doses contain thimerosal and all other childhood vaccines are thimerosal free, and yet ACIP is spending half the morning on this because Secretary RFK Jr is obsessed with mercury... #StopAntiVaxPropaganda

Even for an antivaxer (and this is a low, low, loooow bar), RFK is not particularly good at providing sources for his positions.

RFK says doctors are “co-opted by the medical cartel” and are paid big bonuses to harm people but he’s apparently trying to help us do it more efficiently

So normally, the head of CDC signs off on ACIP recommendations, but we currently have no acting head of CDC. So... does that mean RFK is going to sign off on their recommendations for flu shots for all ages over 6 months?

Instead of making scientific arguments, RFK’s ACIP members are more comfortable trolling expert groups who disagree with them.

Just a reminder: this is a 2024 policy. They're moving the date up, but it's not their idea. And it's always been the policy to make it public - but there used to be a delay, and that's what is removed. Good idea, but not theirs. nih.gov/about-nih/nih-…
