Unfortunately I can't be there as I will be in Melbourne. However, I urge everyone who has an interest in the future for our children to try and attend this protest. Our government appears to have no regard for social capital investment. This has to change.

We sincerely hope this training and advice involves improving compliance with DSE, DDA and CRPD to ensure these school leaders create and maintain universally accessible schools that welcome, teach and engage all students, including those with disabilities

The feathers being ruffled by the idea of disabled people getting our right to inclusive education! “But other countries haven’t got rid of all their segregated schools!” No, but they’re ahead. Australia is in a slow race to the bottom. Outdated. Regressive. OECD declining.

They won’t “Get over it,” until their nervous system regulates it. They can’t “Just move on,” until their body feels safe to. They won’t “Just think positive” until their thoughts have been validated & they find relief. If it’s not trauma informed, it’s not meant to heal trauma.
