And remember that this is not happening in isolation. There are other costs OBBB shifts to states like those caused by some of the Medicaid and ACA marketplace changes. States will have to make tough choices & people who need help the most will suffer. cbpp.org/research/state…

The Parliamentarian ruled 2 of the most harmful #SNAP cuts in the Senate Republican bill violate the Byrd rule, including an unprecedented cost-shift to states that could end SNAP entirely in parts of the U.S. The only ā€œoptionā€ Sen Rs shld consider is removing these cuts entirely

These are both fundamentally harmful policies that would take food away from low-income people & worsen hunger no matter how policymakers may attempt to rewrite or restructure them to pass muster with Senate rules. Senate Republicans must reject them.

Why rush #OBBB when there isn’t a crisis? Because it is EXTREMELY unpopular & you want to pass it before anyone pays attention. Those of us paying attention must stay vigilant. Poll: GOP budget bill faces nearly 2-to-1 opposition, with many unaware washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/…

This makes no sense. Cut massive amounts of funding that keep rural hospitals afloat and then create a "fund" for rural hospitals (that will undoubtably be meager).

The "one big beautiful bill," which would leave some 16m uninsured, is making people say some ugly things. Sen. McConnell: "They'll get over it." Sen. Ernst: "Well, we all are going to die." CMS Administrator Oz: "Prove that you matter."

Truly Don’t Matter….seriously the math isn’t mathing. #OBBB People living in rural areas will be hurt and face life threatening lack of access to health care if this ridiculousness doesn’t stop.

The White House is touting tax benefits for tipped workers in the reconciliation bill, but 2 million tipped workers could be among those at risk of losing health coverage because of the #Medicaid and #ACA marketplace cuts in the bill. (1/3) nbcwashington.com/news/business/…

This ⁦CNN⁩ story shows that families understand #OBBB - ā€œI’m worried that the red tape is going to affect our Medicaid because of just the oversight burdens and that as a result, I’m going to lose my daughter because she’s lost coverage before.ā€ cnn.com/2025/06/26/pol…

Every major bill language release is happening under the cover of night. Tracks since the bill is so unpopular. Are Senators really going to set millions of families backwards by taking health coverage & food asst away from them? Is that why they got into politics? Really?

Peggy Bailey (@peggybaileydc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It only takes a little math to dissect what the One Big Beautiful Bill is all about - Securing tax cuts for wealthy people on the backs of people who will have their health coverage and food assistance taken away.

We've got #s on this: 9 states require ending the expansion automatically if the fed matching rate drops. In these states, expansion enrollees will immediately lose coverage if expansion is eliminated, reducing Medicaid enrollment by almost 2M ppl by 2034. cbpp.org/research/medic…

New Center on Budget analysis on the Scott Amendment—the ā€œgrandfatheringā€ here is a mirage. ā€œWe estimate that after five years, only 8% of expansion enrollees would still be subject to the 90% matching rate, effectively phasing out the higher matching rate in only a few years.ā€

This bill takes health coverage & food asst away from families so that the country 'can afford' tax cuts to the wealthy. Oh but wait! This bill also adds trillions to the debt. No logic, just cruelty. Outrageous and it should be rejected by the House. cbpp.org/press/statemen…

Several House Republicans held their noses and voted yes on their version of OBBB. They hoped the Senate would make it better. NOPE! Here is a sampling of ways Senate Republicans actually made it worse.

This is beyond irresponsible and will be harmful to millions of people over the next few years. It is up to all of us to protect as many people as possible and call out the harm as the federal gov’t & states implement this bill. We will press on!

Ending homelessness takes implementing common sense policies that we know work. These are all tested and proven lower the administrative burden of providers and make it easier for people to find a home.
