The Parliamentarian ruled 2 of the most harmful #SNAP cuts in the Senate Republican bill violate the Byrd rule, including an unprecedented cost-shift to states that could end SNAP entirely in parts of the U.S. The only “option” Sen Rs shld consider is removing these cuts entirely

These are both fundamentally harmful policies that would take food away from low-income people & worsen hunger no matter how policymakers may attempt to rewrite or restructure them to pass muster with Senate rules. Senate Republicans must reject them.

This makes no sense. Cut massive amounts of funding that keep rural hospitals afloat and then create a "fund" for rural hospitals (that will undoubtably be meager).

The "one big beautiful bill," which would leave some 16m uninsured, is making people say some ugly things. Sen. McConnell: "They'll get over it." Sen. Ernst: "Well, we all are going to die." CMS Administrator Oz: "Prove that you matter."

Every major bill language release is happening under the cover of night. Tracks since the bill is so unpopular. Are Senators really going to set millions of families backwards by taking health coverage & food asst away from them? Is that why they got into politics? Really?

It only takes a little math to dissect what the One Big Beautiful Bill is all about - Securing tax cuts for wealthy people on the backs of people who will have their health coverage and food assistance taken away.

We've got #s on this: 9 states require ending the expansion automatically if the fed matching rate drops. In these states, expansion enrollees will immediately lose coverage if expansion is eliminated, reducing Medicaid enrollment by almost 2M ppl by 2034. cbpp.org/research/medic…

New Center on Budget analysis on the Scott Amendment—the “grandfathering” here is a mirage. “We estimate that after five years, only 8% of expansion enrollees would still be subject to the 90% matching rate, effectively phasing out the higher matching rate in only a few years.”

Several House Republicans held their noses and voted yes on their version of OBBB. They hoped the Senate would make it better. NOPE! Here is a sampling of ways Senate Republicans actually made it worse.
