PennDOT has come a long way from the early ventilation systems, and I thank @ASCEpgh for recognizing this system’s advanced engineering nationally. Our tunnel maintainers are an around-the-clock operation, and they routinely monitor these systems to ensure public safety.

.Governor Josh Shapiro’s focus on PA’s economy, travel safety & supporting Pennsylvanians’ freedom drove us to start this collaborative process. Building on existing trail successes, we’ve created a way for ATV riders to travel safely & efficiently while supporting rural PA economies.

This is an incredible story of building bridges between the public and private sectors. Thanks to this work and collaboration, millions of gallons of milk that would have potentially been wasted will be safely transported to Pennsylvania processors.

Each year, I'm honored to see some of the brightest young minds in PA present solutions for transportation issues. It’s rare we have a chance to explore such new technology with a fresh set of eyes. I know we’ll see some truly unique solutions put forward by this year’s teams.

With more operating railroads than any other state in the country, rail is a critical part of PA’s transportation landscape. Through this comment period, Pennsylvanians can share their visions for passenger & freight rail across the state, and we look forward to their feedback.

Thanks to our team’s diligence in 2023/2024 & Governor Josh Shapiro’s persistence to secure federally appropriated funding, we can continue making EVs more accessible for PA travelers. That quick action meant we could adapt to nat'l program changes while locking in investments for PA.

Truck parking is a national issue & with the high volume of freight traffic through PA, Governor Josh Shapiro knew we had to tackle it. As a CDL-holder, I know this is important for our economy & workforce. Now truckers will have more options to safely park & meet rest requirements.

By adding these spots – and looking at ways to add even more – we’re giving truckers many more options to safely park and meet their rest requirements.

I’m proud we’re getting stuff done for commercial drivers! This first statewide expansion of designated parking spaces – other than through facility construction projects – and will help address a longstanding, nationwide challenge and improve driver safety. Governor Josh Shapiro
