HELP. We have 3 un-named girls we'd like help identifying for our records. The 1st girl was in the early 1900s and we assume she is local as the photographer was local. The 2nd girl we've been trying to identify for a couple of years now. The 3rd girl was a student at TA West.

We’re in our *3rd* post-lockdown viral respiratory season and admissions for viral resp illness+pneumonia are 6 standard deviations above the historical average. I do not understand how so many reasonable people haven’t figured out that the “immunity debt” scapegoat is disinfo.🧵

I know that they say the public health emergency is now over but on the news I heard them say “We now have evidence that COVID decreases our immune response, making us susceptible to infections” which certainly makes it seem like our emergency is only just beginning.

Today when I tried to explain why I couldn’t attend a holiday gathering - I was told (rather curtly) “we don’t do sick - happy thoughts only”. At first I thought this was just toxic positivity - but after reflecting I’m realizing it’s another example of denial & ableism /1 🧵

Jon Favreau “I wasn’t talking about disabled people”… we know. We literally know. Y’all never are bc you choose to either ignore us or punch down.

I am so excited to share Melissa Hung’s beautiful essay in DISABILITY INTIMACY and the work of 30+ disabled contributors!! More details here: disabilityvisibilityproject.com/book/disabilit…

So people will applaud Christina Applegate appearing on stage but no one thought about COVID mitigation to protect her—or even suggesting SHE mask—is a perfect encapsulation of how people’s performance of being inspired by disability is ultimately meaningless.

This works out to 108.6 gallons per capita per day (gpcd), regional average. Residents of new apartments use only 40 gpcd according to water companies that serve them. We waste so much water on SFH zoning 😢

The bare minimum we should have learned from a devastating pandemic that has killed and disabled millions is that we should stay home when we are sick. Yet, governments beholden to corporate interests are determined to make sure we don't even do that.

L.A.Z.F. asks that all vendors & attendees of L.A.Z.F. wear masks while inside FRANKIE L.A. Los Angeles County is experiencing a rise in Covid cases & we are requiring masks to protect each other, especially our immunocompromised friends. Don’t let this be a super spreader event!
