The generation that engages with political process and more likely to vote reform gets a bung. That’s the way things work I suppose.

Amazingly, >1k likes for this by someone who was 33 when Pensions Act 1995 equalised the state pension age. Her complaint has nothing to do with any “injustice” or alleged failure of communication: she just wants money without earning it. Taxpayers have no reason to comply.

No, MPs haven't legalised abortion up to birth. That lie was spread here by many who should know better. The change is about saving a handful of vulnerable women from trauma and prison. Women about whom those people do not even think. New writing from me open.substack.com/pub/goodalland…

If you need your day brightening up, just sit back and enjoy the way former Welsh Tory leader Andrew RT Davies says the word "midges".

The UK tax paradox: 1️⃣ The tax burden is at a post-war high, and 52% of us say we're over-taxed. 2️⃣ Yet the average UK worker paid less tax on their wages in 2024 than any previous year. And less than peers in the other big European countries. How can both be true? 🧵

You think our political system will volte face so dramatically to hate old people when they currently support them so much!? Old people dying in penury on their DC pensions won’t win elections. Honestly. Silly.

Here's an interesting story: a Financial Planner has scrapped its initial fee “to remove the barriers that stop people from getting great financial advice.” It reckons its move will encourage more people to get financial advice. Is it right? financialplanningtoday.co.uk/news/bristol-f…

Penrith has never been a Labour stronghold. It was for nearly 30 years represented by William Whitelaw. Labour came third even in 1997 under Tony Blair. I’m beginning to suspect that Reform UK is not necessarily a reliable source on political matters.

John Brewin A gay migrant headlining an event to raise money to help children in a country with a 35% Islamic popultaion in the year when UK unemployment reached a record peak. Imagine the Reform lot if that happened today.
