TXA administration for trauma casualties. Give 1 gram of TXA over 10 minutes IV/IO (For IM administer the dose over 2 sites 0.5mg per site). For best results, administer TXA within 3 hours of the injury but best practice is to administer as soon as practically possible.

Trauma Cocktail For a trauma casualty, particularly one that needs to be transported, it’s best practice to administer a ‘Trauma Cocktail’. Drugs differ between nations but a common cocktail in UK SOF is 1 gram TXA, 2 gram Ceftriaxone and 4mg Ondansetron administered IV or IO.
