Congrats to Rep. Elise Stefanik for her selection as our next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. The Congresswoman will be leading the U.S. Mission at an incredibly important time in the history of the organization where American leadership is needed more than ever.

We Better World Campaign are carefully monitoring the rapidly devolving security situation in Goma. I visited with the brave MONUSCO peacekeepers in Goma and in rural villages in Eastern DR Congo and deeply appreciate they're away from their home countries trying to secure peace.

When I visited with MONUSCO peacekeepers in 2016, I saw firsthand their transformative impact on the local community. The battle for Goma stands as a turning point in the DRC's fight for peace and the United Nations continues to play a central role in these efforts.

Appreciate Donald J. Trump’s Oval Office comment last night that “the potential of the UN is fantastic.” Yesterday’s EO calling for a review of U.S. investments in international organizations makes sense at the beginning of any new administration. We’re confident that this

It was a pleasure meeting yesterday with UN Development Administrator Achim Steiner. His leadership over the past 8 years has been vital in driving agency efforts to end poverty, tackle inequality, and build resilience for vulnerable communities around the world.

A successful day of testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Cmte for Michael Waltz, the nominee for U.S. Ambassador to the UN: “I'm confident under this President's leadership we can continue to spread peace and prosperity and I'm confident we can make the UN great again.”

The decision by the Senate to rescind $1 billion from United Nations programs in Fiscal Years 2024 and 2025 is a large step backward for U.S. global leadership. Read the full statement from Better World Campaign and UNA-USA below. betterworldcampaign.org/funding/u-s-gl…

Honored to introduce Pittsburgh Steelers' Calvin Anderson at last night's United to Beat Malaria and United Nations Foundation reception. Thank you to Calvin and his wife Sheree for their continued advocacy on this important issue. If he can help solve malaria like he does a Rubik’s Cube, we're in good hands!
