New beginnings are always great- wonderful to meet our new Year 1 ARIES Doctoral Training and work with them!

Just finished an amazing week at #FSBI2023 both presenting a poster and helping out on the local organising committee massive thanks to Dr Anna Sturrock and Rui Vieira for all the hard work organising.

Massive thanks to The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust for all their help sampling the river Frome last week as part of my PhD looking at how metabolism influences: diet, growth, and migration in Atlantic salmon and brown trout. Thanks also to Daniel Osmond for stepping in to tag last minute.

My first time to visit River Deveron for field experiments measuring salmon / trout metabolic rates with Essex ECOSAGE lab mates Eoin O'Gorman Peter , Alexia M. González Ferreras and Paddy Keith . Great working experiences in the mixed weather. School of Life Sciences, University of Essex Postgrads_Essex

Last day, sampling on the Deveron, looking at how metabolism influences growth and migration. Thanks to Paddy Keith Alexia M. González Ferreras Zelin Chen and Colin Bull for help in the field and to the Atlantic Salmon Trust for all their help facilitating!

The past few days have been fantastic sampling on the River Deveron looking at how metabolism influences growth and migration of salmonids. Great team with Peter Paddy Keith and Zelin Chen. Thanks to Atlantic Salmon Trust for all their help in the field.
