Today, Public Safety bureaus and departments participated in the City’s annual “Take Our Kids to Work Day!” Children were able to climb the various vehicles, pet the Mounted Unit horses, see exhibits and equipment, meet first responders… and received a lot of candy!

Pittsburgh EMS is happy to announce that two EMS Chiefs were selected as recipients of the 2025 Community Liver Alliance’s “You Make a Difference” Award. Division Chief Mark Pinkchalk and Crew Chief Nick Okwiya were nominated by the Allegheny County Health Department of Health.

Congratulations to the 46,000 individuals who participated in the Pittsburgh Marathon events! 30 EMS agencies provided EMS support. Together, we fielded 64 calls for service. 27 patients were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries and all have since been released.

This week, the Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS recognized its first cohort of paramedics to have qualified as Master Clinicians. The group was honored at the EMS Training Division and presented with a certificate and Master Clinician ribbon to add to their uniforms. Congratulations!
