Pittsburgh Public Safety thanks George Strait for including Pittsburgh Police and Fire in the tribute video that featured local first responders. The video played behind him on the screens while he performed his song ‘Weight of The Badge’ at Acrisure Stadium on May 31.

SVU detectives arrested a suspect following an investigation into two separate sexual assaults in Oakland. Tyree Jackson, 24, turned himself in on warrants issued for his arrest. Jackson faces multiple charges and is being held in the ACJ. The investigation is ongoing.

Pittsburgh Police welcomed a new recruit class this week, the first of 2025. BR 25-01 consists of 24 basic recruits and two certified officers. Welcome recruits, and good luck!

Pittsburgh Police unexpectedly lost a member of the K9 Unit on June 11 due to a medical emergency. K9 Miky was a six-year-old Belgian Malinois. K9 Miky and his handler Officer Schwartzmiller graduated from the PBP K9 School on January 24, 2020. K9 Miky will be greatly missed.
