New paper from the lab. Thank you to Christian Møller-Olsen, PhD for the hard work and all our amazing collaborators! Thank you Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research @MIBTP1 for funding! Analysing Parallel Strategies to Alter the Host Specificity of Bacteriophage T7 mdpi.com/1156582 ##mdpibiology via Biology MDPI

Great visit to the Finham sewage plant today! Hopefully these sewage samples with have lots of #bacteriophages that can treat antibiotic resistant S. aureus infections! Thanks Hannah and Severn Trent.

New paper! with Antonia Sagona Huba Marton and Matt Gibson pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…

Please check the work of my two PhD students Gurneet Dhanoa and Nathan Burton Microbiology Society meeting in Belfast #Microbio22

Last but not least, Greg Young made me think about temperate vs lytic phage prevalence in the gut, and Nathan Burton ended the day with a really relevant talk on combining phage and antibiotics to treat S. aureus biofilms 🦠 7/n

I'm delighted to share the first paper from my PhD published in ACS Synthetic Bio! SpyPhage: A Cell-Free TXTL Platform for Rapid Engineering of Targeted Phage Therapies. doi.org/10.1021/acssyn… #TXTL #phage #phagetherapy #synbio #cellfree

Good luck to all the Sagona lab members presenting their work via talk or poster Microbiology Society meeting!

Excellent talk by Jessica Lewis at #Microbio24 today. Is there a hero out there that can help with her strange multi contig phage genome?!

Won a bottle at the microbesNG stand today at #Microbio24, best time of the day. Made sequencing with them even more worth it ❤️. For anyone into Biofilms - my talk is at 17:05 today in the Kilsyth room (level 0) on re sensitising biofilms to antibiotics.

Really enjoyed giving my talk today at #Microbio24. Thanks everyone who came to listen to my 💩 jokes. Microbiology Society

Thank you NORTHERN 🚆 for finding my bag at midnight! I thought I would never see it again.

Massive congratulations to Nathan today Nathan Burton MIBTP for successfully defending his thesis!! Huge thanks to Freya Harrison and Dr Ellie Jameson for being his internal and external examiners! Nathan is looking for PDRA positions and I can highly recommend him!!!
