Just to let people know, my sister got me to hospital and I spent two days there. I am now receiving treatment and have been eating again. Thanks for the outpourings of support. I may even see my son again which has been destroying me.

Teaching as a Craft, Not a Science Instead of treating teaching as an engineering problem where inputs lead to predictable outputs, we should view it as a craft—where best practices inform instruction, but execution depends on the teacher’s skill, experience, and ability to read

Why does Hattie's plagiarism & misconduct matter? Because it exposes the lie at the heart of what is called the 'science of learning', 'evidence-based' or 'education reform' movement. This movement is not about 'science', but about 'management science', and it's destructive ⬇️

It's impossible to plagiarise accidentally over 500 times. But here is proof that Hattie *intentionally* plagiarised: he would copy citations provided by authors separately from the rest of the text he was copying. This is highly deceptive. See 4 examples from 4 separate works:

I’m in complete agreement with this. There are other ways of eliciting responses from pupils that don’t involve fear of humiliation. Like reading aloud, it’s best not to force anyone. In a class with poor readers I would let them volunteer to be characters who read speech aloud.

thehighcliffeguy It’s nothing more than oppression there is no need for silent corridors. Young people spending 6 hours a day largely silent, it’s an unnatural environment if not in a religious order.
