I am super excited for our paper on the global km-scale ICON-HAM-lite aerosol-climate model to be out for discussion in GeoModelDevelopment! Led by Philipp Weiss in Climate Processes Department of Physics at University of Oxford as part of the nextGEMS project! egusphere.copernicus.org/preprints/2024…

Representing aerosols explicitly in global km-scale atmospheric models allows us to study phenomena not resolved in traditional climate models. This is possible through the development a reduced complexity version of our detailed aerosol model HAM, named HAM-lite.
