Love this blog from Alan Howe for Oracy Cambridge. It got me thinking about the interaction between exploratarory / dialogic talk, presentational talk and debate, and about the ways in which they can complement each other as part of the teaching and learning process.

Good to facilitate an Generation Global dialogue on health and wellbeing this morning. One student, from India, reflected that she does not experience this kind of talk in everyday life, and on how much she valued it. Highlights the importance of creating opportunities for dialogue.

Sudan is bleeding. Hell is happening before our eyes. Children are starving, women face unspeakable violence, and entire communities are being erased. United Nations Security Council: 🚨 Break the telecoms blackout. 🚨 Deploy peacekeepers. 🚨 Protect civilians. The world is watching.

Really enjoyed today's Talk Matters event organised by London's Violence Reduction Unit. Good to hear from London schools about how they are coming together to improve outcomes for their children through oracy. Pleased that Oracy Cambridge are able to play a part.

Lovely event organised by SAPERE P4C this evening. Great to meet up with colleagues and to hear from students Rokeby School 💙 about the impact of P4C on their education and their outlook. Reminded me of why I'm such a big believer in P4C and dialogic education.

Some wonderful stories of dialogue from around the world shared in Generation Global's Dialogue Diary generation.global/news/2025/01/0…. Delighted to be part of this project, now part of International Baccalaureate, supporting teachers & students to learn about and practice dialogue in a global context.
