Celebrating the acceptance of our paper by turning it into biscuit form again! 👩‍🍳🌟 Turns out the added radial velocities in Gaia DR3 and this many colours in your plots makes it a rather time consuming task! 😂

This weekend, are you ready to dust off your #LEGO sets for the International LEGO Day? 🧩 For some inspiration, take a look at our LHC built with LEDs! 🤩These LEDs represents particles being accelerated to nearly the speed of light, which then collide to form more particles!

Thoughts and prayers to the woman on my easyJet flight asking everyone around her questions like “Is there really this little legroom? Where am I supposed to put my bag? I’ve never flown anything lower than business class before.”

Q: What’s a mathematician’s favourite dessert? A: Pi! How are you celebrating #piDay2023? We like to mark the occasion with physics pies!

Made a solar system of cupcakes from a kit. (I was impressed it gave instructions on how to do the Great Red Spot.) Getting the colours right was tricky with random quantities of icing, and no artistic talent. Nothing compared to what ⁦Physics Cakes⁩ gets up to.

There are 3 main ways that scientists are trying to study dark matter: make it, break it, or shake it. “Make it” experiments smash particles together and look at the particle debris for dark matter. 🧵(1/3)

Is there a better way to celebrate #DarkMatterDay than with a chocolate pie chart pie that shows the fractions of visible matter, dark matter, and dark energy in the universe?
