After almost 12 wonderful years in Bern at Universität Bern, I am thrilled to start a new adventure in Lausanne at Université de Lausanne. I can't wait to dive into exciting research questions on metamorphic processes with a new research group! Institute of Geological Sciences, Uni Bern Institut des Sciences de la Terre - UNIL

Tenerife, where we take our volcanology students on fieldwork, is slowly having its world-class roadcuts, which expose 2 million years of Las Canadas caldera's volcanic history, covered in concrete. What can we do? @Geotenerife Instituto Geográfico Nacional-O.A.CNIG

We had a great time in the field last week for our 2024 workshop "Fluids in the crust" with French colleagues from Besançon. This exchange between Universität Bern and université de Franche-Comté was funded by SCNAT and Campus France through a partnership Germaine de Staël - Hubert Curien for 2023-2024

We had a great Fieldwork Inclusivity Workshop from Floreana Miesen this afternoon. This online event was organized by GEODES with onsite participants in several hubs across Switzerland. Learn more on the GEODES’ website geodeswitzerland.ch

How quickly do minerals develop in the Earth's crust during mountain formation? A Université de Lausanne team found their formation takes much less time than previously thought, refining our understanding of microearthquakes & mineral resource distribution. Pierre Lanari unil.ch/news/174288819…
