MimmiCecilia Terezie Mandakova Jamie 5 sibling natural #allopolyploids of progressive ages grant a perspective through time on #transposableElement activity and genome dynamics post-polyploidization. We find an increase in TE content and #genomeSize, but this is mainly driven by a particular TE in all 5 #polyploids. In general TE content increase does not follow immediately after #polyploidization, spans many tenK generations and later stabilizes. doi.org/10.1093/molbev…

We compared 2 #Tillandsia genomes and identified several large scale #StructuralVariants. However, major gene expression differences between #CAM and #C3 #metabolism appeared associated with rapid gene family evolution and #TransposableElement activity. doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…

We release here the first pair of related #CAM/#C3 genomes, the first high quality genomes for #Tillandsia, and third for #Bromeliaceae. The genomes exhibit some of the highest #TransposableElement contents, and an intriguing GC content landscape. doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…
