This week, 50 students are at the Greifswald MPI for Plasma Physics for the third qualifying round of the Internat. Physics Olympiad. On Friday, they will find out who has made it through to the next round. There, the German finalists for #IPhO in Paris will be determined.

We are now a partner in a $14 million project of U.S. Department of Energy. Together with US institutions, we will develop simulations for key requirements of #nuclearfusion power plants. The GENE-X code developed at IPP plays a key role in this. ipp.mpg.de/5486519/doe_pr…

17 school students got their ticket at IPP Greifswald for the final national round of the International Physics Olympiad. There, they can compete for the last five places for the IPhO 2025, which will be held in Paris, in July with around 80 participating countries. Good luck!

From 4 to 6 February, IPP Greifswald is hosting the 1st workshop of the joint EUROfusion/Fusion for Energy ECRH community! ECRH = electron cyclotron resonance heating is used to heat a fusion plasma. 106 participants from Europe & beyond are taking part - in person or remotely.
