Our work exploring pathways to interconvert different reactive sulfur species is out in J Org Chem/Org Lett. We show that H2S can be converted to COS and CS2 using different organic electrophiles. Great work Michael, Jonathan, & Andrew! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

Interested in reactive S & N species? Check out Andy’s new Angewandte Chemie paper on SNO- & SSNO- reactivity! Outlines H+ mediated conversion of SNO- to SSNO-, & connections w/ HNO, NO, & H2S. Also new reactivity w/ COS & other RSS. Great work Andy Davis! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100…

Check out Andy’s new Inorganic Chemistry paper on reactive S & N anions binding to molecular receptors! Lots of NMR data & X-ray structures highlighting the importance of C-H interactions in reversible HS- (and other anion) binding. Great work Andy Davis ! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Mike was one of 3 UO faculty selected in the 2025 class of Senior Members of the National Academy of Inventors! Way to go Mike (Mike Pluth), Ramesh Jasti (Ramesh Jasti), & Karen Guillemin! news.uoregon.edu/academy-names-…

Two upcoming defenses in our lab this week from Andy (Andy Davis) & Haley (Haley Smith)!

Congratulations Dr. Davis Andy Davis on a great PhD defense! Lots of new insights into the reactivity and binding of reactive hybrid S & N anions!

Honored to receive the UO CAS Collegiate Faculty Award! Thanks UO College of Arts and Sciences for this recognition, and for recognizing the research contributions, creativity, and innovation from Pluth Group members! cas.uoregon.edu/two-natural-sc…

Congratulations Dr. Smith Haley Smith on a great PhD defense! Thanks for all your work expanding our understanding of COS biological chemistry!

Check out Shiva’s Chemical Science paper on using in situ ReactIR to measure host-guest binding affinities across hydrogen and halogen-bonding #supramolecular systems. Can be used w/ host or guest vibrations to measure Ka values. Great work Shiva Moaven! pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Congrats to all the UO graduates today, including Andy & Haley! Dr. Andy Davis & Dr. Haley Smith

New Inorganic Chemistry paper: Mo/W-CO complexes + S₈ → COS! Highlights links between CO & reactive S species (Se behaves differently!) Initial 2023 ChemRxiv preprint, now w COS quantification & new insights. Great work Toby, Haley & Keyan! Haley Smith Keyan Li pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Check out our Inorganic Chemistry paper on Fe-NO formation from Fe(II) w/ SSNO(-) & SNO(-)! New insights into metal nitrosyl & reactive sulfur species formation from small S/N hybrid molecules. Great work Keyan (@Keyanl10), Juan, and George! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
