To drive change, we must dissociate alcohol from cultural traditions, strengthen public health campaigns & curb industry influence. We advocate for leading by example by eliminating alcohol from conferences to convey that public health should not be compromised for traditions.

Ireland’s two-tier health care system creates deep inequalities. The consequences are stark: in January 2025 alone, nearly 14,000 patients had to be treated without a hospital bed due to overcrowding. It is time for Ireland to align with European standards!

As policymakers often prioritise changes with the quickest impact, this study provides 25 practical, evidence-based quick buys that can make a real difference.
