The second wave arrives. With 10 Taxis in this convoy it was great to see some familiar faces, spirits are high + expectations are great .Brittany Ferries gave the veterans the usual V.I.P treatment everyone was safely at their hotel and looking forward to the second day .

Poppy Cabs Heroes of D Day then and now Lest we forget. At the going down of the sun We shall remember them

Today we are at Arramonches, the site of Gold Beach. Seeing just how shallow the beach is makes me realise why Rhino barges, as explained by Maj Ted Hunt, were so important to get men equipment into this area. This makes to stories so real.

Dorothea, our 100 year old lady veteran was asked to say a few words. She’s a wonderful, eloquent lady who is so full of energy it leaves people much younger feeling exhausted She’s enjoying her time with ⁦Taxi Charity⁩ It’s an honour to take part

This is Rue Fred Glover in Merville I took Fred along with Ted Hunt to Normandy and Netherlands several times. Ted wanted to see this street but died before he could get here Today I kept my promise to Ted and honoured Fred alongside Peter Galloway and John Pinkerton

Left Rue Fred Glover, moved to Merville Battery where we found the tree dedicated to Fred Glover John Pinkerton joined Peter Galloway Standard bearer at Fred’s funeral service, to honour Fred It’s been 2 years but I finally fulfilled my promise to do this for Major Ted Hunt

final day, visited the British Normandy memorial On the seaward side there’s several thousand silhouette statues Some of these commemorating people that Taxi Charity for Military Veterans have been closely associated with Our veterans, and all associated were visibly moved.
