A symbol of pride since 1791, our "Diamond P" became one of Ireland's first trademarks in 1877 and is now one of the country's most iconic logos. It’s a mark of authenticity that you’ll find on nearly everything we do.

Since the days of John's Lane, waste isn't something that we take lightly. A by-product of distilling #irishwhiskey, our spent grains are highly nutritious as animal feed and we provide Irish farmers this ideal food, carrying on a tradition of recycling that spans generations.

Pot Still Whiskey isn't the only thing we helped to pioneer in Ireland. The roof of our maturation house at John’s Lane Distillery, pictured here in 1946, was one of the first “green roofs.”

We were the first in Dublin to bottle our own whiskey in 1886 and, a few years later, we invented the world’s first "airline bottle", nicknamed the "Baby Power". Bottling allowed the brand to travel more easily and soon POWERS was one of the most popular whiskeys in the world.

"This powerful expression, predominantly matured in bourbon with some sherry casks, has an intriguing nose of candied peel, dried apricot, mango strips, white pepper, herbal notes, almond paste, and sweet grapefruit flesh." - Whisky Advocate

It's officially Autumn and, as has been the case for centuries, the migration of the Swallow signals the beginning of distilling season in Dublin.

POWERS is known for many firsts, including the Irish Coffee. In 1943 Joe Sheridan, a chef at the restaurant in Foynes Airport, was tasked with preparing a warm drink for the passengers of a delayed flight. The original recipe, made with POWERS, is a mainstay at pubs to this day.
