Today in PLC, a colleague described how she keeps a spread sheet of things that happen on screen. Like a cat walks across the screen. Instead of chiding the student, she records, β€œStudent has a cat. Ask its name later.” That tiny little move is about relationship now and later.

Principals, your school has a mission statement, but what is your school's story? What narrative are you giving to the community. Share the successes of your school, students, and staff! Tell your school's story or others will create their own narrative.

Everyone is important in God’s eyes, everyone can transform a part of the world polluted by human voracity into the good reality willed by the Creator. #SeasonOfCreation

Let us ask the Lord for the gift of peace, for a world without arms of mass destruction! Let us dedicate ourselves to free humanity from nuclear arms, this serious threat to the human race.

Good leadership is good leadership, but every admin should have spent time in the classroom as a teacher. If they haven't, they should be required to teach a class as admin. You have to experience what teachers experience to fully serve & support them.

Jesus challenges us to put aside all differences and, in the face of suffering, to draw near to others with no questions asked. #FratelliTutti

There are so many quiet, unsung heroes in American daily life, but at the top of the list must be nurses and teachers. They exemplify the best of #WhatUnitesUs.

I think you’ll make more progress with students when you’re trying to build on their strengths instead of just trying to fix their weaknesses.

There are so many wonderful people out there doing amazing things. Don’t get blinded by the negative and cynical. Sure, they are out there, so don’t be naive. But, don’t get discouraged as more people than you might imagine are working daily to move mountains.

Taking into consideration the worsening of multiple converging political and environmental crises -- hunger, the climate, nuclear arms, to name a few -- the commitment to peace has never been so necessary and urgent.

Admin, if you are in the classrooms regularly and providing praise and thoughtful feedback when needed, then Nothing about a formal observation should be surprising to you or to the teacher.

We all have families, and we need to take care of them. Teachers should never feel guilty about investing time in their own kids.

One of the first steps in connecting with a challenging student… is to LIKE them, rather than β€œput up” with them. It’s amazing how the attitude of the adult can affect the attitude of the kid.
